The Poetry Series

The Poetry Series is an ongoing journey - long, winding, digressive, elusive, curious, strange, unsettling, and beautiful. Each photograph is a stanza in a larger, living poem. Every image features a key protagonist, a moment of quiet theatre, like a diorama suspended in time. We write a poem for each image - not as an explanation, but as a way to deepen the story. The poem and photograph sit side by side, each adding something the other can’t say alone.

 

The series is not unlike the childhood game where a piece of paper is folded into sections and passed along, each friend blindly writing a segment of a story. The parts can be read alone - and may even make more sense that way - but unfold them together and something stranger emerges: something unexpected, disjointed, and true. Something like life.
